Harrison’s birthday

Harrison turned 5 years old this week and the kids went to his party today. They played ‘pass the parcel’, ‘eating hanging doughnut’ and ran a-muck in the Parkers block.

Seán’s Girlfriend

Seán’s girlfriend, Taya, came over for a play day on Thursday. They had great fun together and Seán thanked Taya for having a great fun day with him (he’s a charmer!).

Gingin Expo

Today was Expo Day in Gingin, that can only mean two things for Seán & Lexie….. TRACTORS and ANIMALS. Ben & I got the kids some treats and Seán went crazy on the bouncy castle. The weather was perfect so the locals were out in force. Lexie even found a Ute in the Ute muster!

Kids tired out, then homeward bound for Ben to put down a home brew and the kids to wind down with some art work & gluing.

Our Shoe Tree

I bought this stand in the local ‘red cross’ shop today, I thought it would be good for presentation and display of my textiles. Ben came home and hung his work boots on it and called it our shoe tree! The kids then hung all our shoes (that were all over the ground) on it. I think it looks great!

Sculpture by the Sea, Cottesloe 2008

Every Friday Lexie & I have our girlie day out! This week we went to see the sculpture by the sea exhibition at Cottesloe beach. We had a great day & Lexie’s pick of the sculpture is the “Yellow one with the stairs”. She thinks it belongs to ’the crocked man who live in a crocked house’.

The sculptures were very impressive but I thought last years exhibition was more dramatic. There wasn’t the variety of different medium this year, there seemed to be heaps of metal/steel . My favorite (and I think everyone’s favorite) was ‘Fossil’ created by Julia Adzuki & Mark Szulgit from Sweden.blg4-038.jpg blg4-037.jpgblg4-039.jpg

The materials are plexiglass with a metal base. The artists have exhibited ice sculpture in Norway, England, Italy and in Sweden’s Ice hotel.

Little Boy Blue

Seán woke me this morning with ‘Mammy, Look at my hair’. His dad put blue hair dye in his hair while I was snoozing. I think he looks pretty cool! I have to cut his hair today for school tomorrow as he was too hot in class last week with his thick blond curls.
